Summary: "Hugs Make the World Go 'Round"
As a wee little girl, my mother and I would watch Leo Buscalia on PBS (either before or after Monty Python's Flying Circus). We were also fortunate to see him lecture in person. What a genuinely enthusiastic and kind person he was. Leo was a big advocate of hugging and after the lecture Leo stayed on stage to hug each audience member who was willing to stand in line. I stood in line with my mom. We were so fortunate to give him a big hug and thank him for a wonderful listening experience. This book is an extension of Leo's mission to encourage people to be gentle and loving with each other.

Summary: "Must read if you like romance"
I really enjoyed this book. Mr. Buscaglia's upbringing I envy. He had a good dose of affection growing up as a kid. Males in general do not receive the affection that females do when growing up, yet we crave it just like women do. This book made me question my upbringing. I feel doing so is vital to uncovering the various places within us that keep tugging for fulfillment. If you have thoughts (desires) that keep coming up regarding a life (yours) that you feel needs to break open, feel that this book will help you understand that you are on the right track. Your life is trying to tell you something... Mr. Buscaglia is a fine writer and this book is a wake-up-call of sorts. Even if you are not going through anything personal in particular, this is a great book to just read and enjoy and warm your life with. This book was given to me as a gift. Prior to that I had heard about it but never had the desire to go out and purchase it. I was glad that I did finally read it as it came to me at a time where I was open to what might be in it.
For me this book was an eye-opener.

Summary: "THE MORE IMPORTANT BOOK EVER!"
The first time I read this book, I was 17. I should have read it earlier! I've read it several more times since then; after I got divorced, after I fell in love, watching my children date for the first times, watching as my children are coming into the ages of getting married. It's perfect at any point in your life! It's truly one of the most awesome books I've ever read (over and over).
As a human being, it is a must read and as truly important as the feeling of Love. You MUST read LOVE!!!

Summary: "Talks of Love but fails to define it"
The book was content free. I found the Introduction and Forward to be enjoyable reading but after that the rest of the book was tedious and failed to provide me any idea what love is or how one goes about growing their own love. I will now have to look elsewhere in my quest to understand what is love...

Summary: "All you need it is love..."
I had forgotten about having read this book as a teenager until I rediscovered it among my old books one day.
Seeing the worn cover I remembered easily how as a kid I'd really gotten into the bouyant optimism of Buscaglia's message.
Quite a few years older I suspected that on a re-reading I would probably take a more jaundiced view of the book, that his ideas were maybe passe or naive or impractical like so much 60s inspired stuff seemed now to me to be.
However, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself reinvested in Buscaglia's message and warmed by his sentiments. Though admittedly the book is kind of old I'm nonetheless a little disappointed to be its first reviewer.
But maybe that's how any ball gets rolling (or re-rolling).
If you see this book at a used bookstore or can spare the $2.94 they now seem to want for it, I suggest you give it a shot.
I'm not all the stuff Leo Buscaglia is so frankly I probably wouldn't initiate a hug with him if I met but I would smile warmly as I refused his hug and told him I'd be just as happy to shake hands.
